Several stakeholders were involved in a workshop at IONCOR (previously Valmet Automotive EV Power) plant in Salo in the end of September 2024. The key idea was to find, identify and evaluate development opportunities for production logistics and material flow inside the highly automated plant.
We got on opportunity to hear experiences and ongoing plans presented by Petteri Liutu who also acted as host of the event. We walked through the material flow process in plant floor and logistics areas in smaller groups, asked questions and discussed there. As an introduction, we also had an external insight from Hiava’s Teemu Hämäläinen on how to utilize easy-to-use app in modelling and visualizing intralogistics processes, as well as LIMOWA’s presentation by Heikki Lahtinen from previous projects and cases such as Vision and Roadmap Towards Factory of the Future (the second attachment in Finnish, published originally 2020).

It was nice to see that in actual workshop we had open discussion, and several guests raised different ideas and perspectives that could be evaluated and implemented. Hope that the visitors also got some ideas to their own work. LIMOWA has written the memo and delivered it to host and will use some of those ideas in developing further pilot(s) and updating our current roadmaps.
The journey continues into forthcoming events and workshops. This one was held as a part of AILOG4.0 (Artificial Intelligence Enforced Logistics 4.0) project partly funded by Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council and their AKKE instrument). Few examples of the next ones are Vaisala 30.10.2024 in Vantaa, Logisnext 13.11.2024 in Järvenpää and Kera Group 14.11.2024 in Orimattila. We have limited availability of free places, so please register into events soon and reserve the slot(s) in your calendar.
