Within LIMOWA community we have often used our co-creation/co-innovation approach in trying to find out development opportunities for each case. This means that we have invited tens of professionals to see and hear, and particularly to observe, discuss and create ideas. The workshop held at Vaisala on 30th Oct 2024 had a little bit different setup, but it also gave lots of insights for us to update our existing tools & roadmaps, but believe it did the same both for the hosts and visitors.
On that visit, we did not have such a seminar as an introduction as in previous cases we have had, but we mostly focused on descriptions on hosting company what kind of existing production logistics processes and technologies they have, and what kind of plans for ongoing investments they are now implementing. This paved a road into site visit, where we all made observations and created ideas including proposals what, how and why should be done – or could be done including opportunities new technologies may give.

It was interesting see, that in such a small country where people know each other and/or their organizations, we have open mindset to create ideas and share them with our peers. The hosting company may use the notes created in their operations. But discussion and ideas also will update LIMOWA’s own Vision and Roadmap Towards Factory of the Future, gave some ideas for potential pilot(s) and surely helped other stakeholders in their own work. One example here could be utilization of AMRs. While some companies are already implemented them for a limited number of tasks, lots of new options are becoming into market, as we saw in Aki Hänninen’s (Dimalog) presentation.
The journey continues into forthcoming events and workshops. This one was held as a part of AILOG4.0 (Artificial Intelligence Enforced Logistics 4.0) project partly funded by Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council and their AKKE instrument). The next two will be held on 13th Nov at Logisnext/Järvenpää and on 14th Nov at Kera Group/Orimattila (hybrid).
