We are happy to inform, that even the 1st edition of our bi-annual webinar series was successful. We had two excellent speakers from industry, as well as, our own summary of them towards Logistics 5.0 and the Physical Internet.
Our target is to organize that kind of webinar twice per year, where industry professionals can share their thoughts with the students, as well as, with their teachers and researchers. This first one was held in English, but we can adapt the concept for local language also. And due to the excellent views from industry, the webinar is suitable for busienss professionals too.
The agenda for the first session on 21st Jan 2026 was the following:
- Opening Heikki Lahtinen, LIMOWA
- The Future of Warehousing, Lauri Impiö, SSI Schäfer
- The Development of Production Logistics, Timo Husso, Konecranes
- Logistics 5.0 & The Physical Internet, Heikki Lahtinen, LIMOWA
You can go throught the slides via links above or enjoy the whole webinar once again through video on Youtube here.
Video on SSI Schäfer’s case project Fresh Servant is also available on Youtube.
The cases presented by Konecranes can be found here (and on the both materials, you will find a link further into Youtube):
- Agilon streamlines Demag’s CTO assembly with 90% availability and 95% faster picking | Konecranes
- ABB DS boosts final assembly efficiency by 30–40% with Agilon warehouse automation | Konecranes
The both keynotes covered intralogistics from different perspectives. Lauri introduced the ”warehouse of the future” mostly from the ecommerce trends perspectives, while Timo added the development perspectives from production logistics – although the both companies have experinces and cases from the both sectors.
Due to the limited schedule, Heikki Lahtinen did not present his slides, but those are also embedded in the link above on agenda. The target was to summarize the keynote speakers and go towards (Intra)logistics 5.0 and on that way towards the Physical Internet – to create a truly sustainable supply chain and the transportation system of the future.
Big thanks once again the both for our visiting speakers, as well as, the big audience from several universities and organizations.
